Music Machine 27

Music Machine 27 is intended for live performance and uses a Casio digital horn and arduino.

The Casio digital horn is connected to the arduino via the midi out socket, the arduino then connects to a midi sound module.
When a note is played on the horn the arduino produces a chord which is then sounded by the midi module.
The chord will always include the original pitch but will use it as part of the chord and not necessarily as the root.
It is therefore possible to play a single, repeated note and to create a variety of chords from that.
The arduino also chooses the instrument sounds for each note, all sounds are from the woodwind range.

The live premiere of this piece was on 30th June 2013 at the
Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter
as part of the NonClassical event.
