Library Card Music Player

The original three devices were part of an Arts Council funded project.

They were installed in the early part of 2022 in

St Thomas Libary (Exeter), Taunton Library and Paignton Library.

The Library Card Music Player is a device that will play a unique melody based on the barcode on the library card.

The scanner reads the numbers on the barcode of each library card and these determine the melody that is played.

Every card has a different melody and the same one is played each time that particular card is scanned,

so each library visitor has their own signature tune.

After successfully raising the funds via Crowdfunder
the new device for Exeter Library will be installed
for the Summer Reading Challenge 2022
